I have competed a lot this year with 2 wonderful shar-pei and have yet to get a point on either of them. There is a big cost to enter shows ,drive up to 8 hours to (Atlanta)show, hotel costs, etc. You have to enjoy it to do it. I didn't realize you were in Ireland, Phil. I never put much thought into it, I guess. Jan

Linda i have been 2 3 shows here in 3 1/2 years. That was 1 of my points. All shows are on saturday mornings and with my current job i finish work Saturday morning at 9am in Belfast.
I would need to go home get the dog get the kit loaded into the van and get to Dublin and by the time i would be there the show would be over. So it means taking a night off work.
Garry I wanted to give as much info on the situation as possible.
Everyone else thanks for the replies.
I can understand Linda's points about showing them good examples, and i think i will look out for a Sunday Show or a Bank Holiday show UGM Admin undergroundmastini

AHHH, you have bankers hours. Can't get much easier than that. Nydia
I have a contract working for a bank.
But its for 2 different countries since i go from Northern Ireland to Republic of Ireland at night transporting documents. So I dont really have many days free. UGM Admin undergroundmastini
In the AKC, there are 2-3 breeders that Champion dogs off thier own kennels dogs which I think is a cheap way of doing it. Fortunatly, the Mastno world is small here in the US and we know who they are and we dont give them much credit for that accomplishment
.
I do not see any pride in earning a championship like this. The last show I was at......the last day of a three day show..the competition did not show so I wasted gas and time for nadda.
